First stop — Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is a Central Asian nation and former Soviet republic. It’s known for its mosques, mausoleums and other sites linked to the Silk Road, the ancient trade route between China and the Mediterranean. (Wikipedia).

Then, a 24 hour train to the Kyrgyzstan border

Next stop, Kyrgyzstan

In 2018, the British Backpacker Society ranked Kyrgyzstan as the fifth best adventure travel destination on earth, stating that the country was an adventure travel secret that is “bound to get out soon.”[2] Wikipedia.
